Scarabs

When the world was confronted with the Covid pandemic in 2020, I felt compelled to create something that could bring some kind of positive energy and relief in the midst of such horror. With its rich symbolism in ancient Egyptian religion and history, the scarab, often an amulet, was used to secure a safe passage to the afterlife. And, during the pandemic we experienced, I saw the scarab as a kind of talisman and hope for a world in desperate need of healing.
